Andy Moore Profile

Andy Moore, MS

Research Interests

Andy joined the Anderson lab in 2023 as an undergraduate, pursuing interests in the fields of medical imaging and orthopedics. In 2025, this work culminated in an honors thesis, evaluating sport and sex-specific patterns in pelvic morphology and cartilage degeneration. Excited by the relevance of the research, Andy continued working with the Anderson lab as a biomedical engineering graduate student, completing a combined BS/MS in 2026. Consistent with his interests, his MS project was interdisciplinary, integrating medical imaging, biomechanics, and data science to develop a technique for unsupervised phenotyping of structural hip disease from multimodal patient data.

Andy is now working on topological data analysis techniques and instructing the lab component of BME 4250 - Biomechanics. He is set on a career in academic medicine, planning to start medical school in August of 2027.

Outside of the lab, Andy is an avid cyclist and skier.
