Research Interests

Katie joined the Anderson Lab in the Spring of 2026 as a Research Assistant in her third year as a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Utah. She is originally from Southern Maryland and discovered the U through attending Ballet West’s Summer Intensives in Salt Lake City. She initially was interested in mechanical engineering but specifically wanted to study the mechanics of the body, which brought her to biomedical engineering with an emphasis in biomechanics. She is currently researching scaling differences in motion capture methods in patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome and automating landmark selection in the pelvis and femur. Outside of the lab, Katie enjoys dancing and performing with SLC Ballet, doing nail art, and reading.
