Research Interests

Sarah joined the Anderson Lab in 2026 as a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering. Having experienced numerous injuries during her time as a gymnast, she developed an early interest in orthopedic research and the potential to improve outcomes for patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries. She completed her undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Kinesiology at the College of William & Mary, where she began using mathematical modeling to solve biological and clinical problems.

Her research interests include using computational methods and statistical shape modeling to better understand how anatomical differences influence injury and treatment, with the goal of developing quantitative tools that support informed and personalized clinical decision-making.

When she's not in the lab, Sarah can often be found hiking, swimming, skiing, paddle boarding, or just exploring the outdoors.
