Understanding the pathogenesis of Osteoarthritis (OA)

Harasymowicz’s lab studies pathogenesis of Osteoarthritis (OA). We utilize novel molecular and cell biology methods to understand the contribution of immune cells in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis. We aim to define the phenotype of immune cells, mainly macrophages in the synovial joints and their fate during the progression of injury, age, and obesity.

By joining our group, students will have the opportunity to understand the pathogenesis of OA, learn basics of histology, microCT, and cell culture.
